Change an LPG Cylinder
There are various types of sources that could power forklifts. They can run from liquid propane or LP gas, gasoline, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for many uses. There are some facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the machine must be refueled.
So as to avoid possible serious injury, specific precautions should be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. For instance: be certain to put on the correct safety equipment such as heavy gloves, safety glasses or goggles. Turn off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed securely. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it would turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
