Reach Truck
A reach truck is utilized to stock up supplies, pallets of goods, and to keep storage areas orderly. The reach truck is available in quite a few kinds: the stand-up reach, double-deep reach and straddle reach.
The most basic kind is the stand-up. The forks of the truck slide underneath the pallet and move it to the correct storage location. The forks slide the pallet into place. This particular type of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are only one pallet deep.
Ideal for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to accommodate two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, that is like the stand-up, is commonly utilized. This model consists of telescopic forks designed to place the pallet at the back of the shelving unit. This eliminates the need to push the pallet back when another pallet needs to go into the same shelving section.
The additional advantage of straddle reaches is that they can both slide underneath the pallet and grasp the sides as well. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in many directions. This version is ideal in conditions where goods will not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
Within most warehouses, there are usually more than one type of reach truck. Manufacturing facilities and textile firms utilize various types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not difficult to operate and can make the most of available storage space while increasing production.
