Rough terrain forklifts have been produced by CareLift Equipment, ever since the year 1962. Each day the company strives to deliver value and help all their customers reach their objectives as they know the bottom line is dependability and performance.
There are 2 general types of boom lifts. These models are articulated boom lifts and straight boom lifts. Usually, these units are powered hydraulically. Most commonly straight booms are the great alternative for tasks which need a high reach with no obstructions. The turntable on the machine is capable of rotating 360 degrees with an extendable boom. This extendable boom is able to be vertically raised to below horizontal. Since the operator could steer and maneuver the vehicle while the boom is completely extended, it is a very versatile equipment. These units come in 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive, as well as gas, diesel or propane configurations.
Articulated boom lifts are used for lifting loads up and over obstacles and gain access to areas that were otherwise unaccessible. These lift units carry out jobs which straight telescopic booms cannot complete. These lifts are practically like the straight boom lift in most aspects except in the ability of the boom to articulate. There are various articulation points on the boom in order to allow it to bend in a variety of different directions allowing it to move easily around any objects in the work environment.
To be able to maintain stability while the boom lift is fully extended, some heavy-duty boom lifts come equipped with outriggers. The outriggers provide the operator with some extra safety and confidence. Correct training is required before using boom lifts so as to ensure the jobsite, the operator and everybody working in the vicinity stays safe.
The boom lift allows for tasks requiring a lot of man hours to be done in much less time. These equipment have really increased productivity and have changed the material handling business.
