Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck normally goes by other names including: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of machinery are essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
Like what the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit as they transport loads. The Rider model however, uses a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances in warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are extremely fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to lift and transport unstable or tall loads since there are no safety cages on these models. A rider can be the best answer if you are searching for a cheap method for transporting cargo from one location to another. If though, you are required to transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the best alternative.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machine is particularly designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator with a purpose to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are typically very narrow aisle vehicles that can function in aisles of less than six feet. They are really handy pieces of equipment during physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
