Genie Knuckle boom lifts are strong four wheel steering and four wheel drive capable equipment that allow work to be completed effectively, even if the terrain is rough. The ALC 1000 electronic controls are a menu-based system that enables the user to easily calibrate the machine and its components. System diagnostics are available in various languages. There are dual fuel options available on the Z-80/60 unit. The optional Deutz diesel powered engine is quiet, but turbocharged. It allows for better performance at higher altitudes. It also carries more than enough torque for better grade-ability and terrain.
Improved traction for tough terrain is due to full-time positive traction and four-wheel drive. The Z-135/70 is available with four-wheel steering. Optional features on this particular unit comprise crab, coordinated, front wheel, and rear wheel steering to give the equipment extra agility. The full-time active oscillating axle helps improve wheel contact on uneven ground. All of these features make Genie Knuckle Boom lifts easier and smoother to use on uneven terrain.
Although these models are bigger than other Genie engine-powered articulating Z-booms, they have features such as continuous 360 degree turntable rotation and telescoping jibs to provide the user with incredible range of motion and reach. The design of the Z-boom gives the units exceptional over and up positioning capability that varies from 8.83 meters on the Z-80/60 unit to 23.01 meters on the Z-135/70 model. The XChassis expanding axle is an ingeniously designed device utilized for extending and retracting axles in and out of stowed position. The width of the Z-135/70 model equipment is only 2.46 meters when the axle is stowed. The Z-80/60 has fixed width axles for easier transport.
