Narrow Aisle Forklift
A narrow aisle forklift is utilized for lifting and lowering loaded pallets from high storage areas. This type is suitable for work environments with narrow spaces between aisles, like for example warehouses or retail environments. The forklift has small, solid rubber tires that make maneuvering simple.
The operator of this particular kind of forklift normally stands up in a small cockpit. The stand-up design enables the narrow aisle forklift to be as short and narrow as possible. A stand-up cockpit forklift normally has three tires: one in the rear, and two in the front. This configuration allows for easy and fast maneuvering. There are several versions of these forklifts that are available with a sit-down cockpit. The lift attachment is capable of pivoting to the sides, permitting the lift to be operated without the operator having to reposition the entire machine. The sit-down version normally has four wheels.
An electric engine is used to power many narrow aisle forklifts. Machines that are electrically powered are not noisy and do not make exhaust fumes, making them the preferred choice for closed areas like for instance retail spaces. Some lifts come with a diesel engine or a gas engine. However, the diesel version is not recommended for indoor application since it can be quite noisy and produce exhaust.
