Aisle Types
Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to work in. These machinery are able to turn in an aisle, whilst Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn in the aisle. There are certain aisle widths to take into account with different models.
Very Narrow Aisle trucks can operate in less than 6 feet places, whereas some will use specific guidance systems such as rail, wire or optical systems in order to travel in the aisles. Several different models of VNA trucks consist of Turret Trucks, Swing Masts and Order Selectors. These are popular models in tight retail areas and in several storage and warehouse situations.
Narrow Aisle or NA trucks can operate in aisles which are 8 feet to 10 feet. Usually these are stand-up models like Reach Trucks. They are usually used within storage facilities and warehouses.
The wide aisle forklift is designed to work in aisles more than 8 feet to 10 feet.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard which is made to lessen operator fatigue by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is really big and has an 8" low step height which helps reduce overall body fatigue by easing frequent exit and entry. The model includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat along with a backrest designed to help keep drivers comfortable and therefore more productive while limiting exhaustion.
