The corporation Linden Comansa was originally known as "Imausa." During the early parts of the 1960s, they started their activities as jig and tool manufacturers. The company started out supplying mostly the larger sub-contractors to the then booming automotive industry
There was a strong industrial expansion in Spain during that same time. This period saw Imausa making more advanced jigs, machine tools and other tools for both external and in-house use. What's more, the corporation specialized in making pre-fabricated steel structures especially for industrial buildings.
Imausa's initiation into the crane market was an almost inevitable if not logical step. The Spanish tourist industry exploded to rapidly become amongst the world's largest tourism magnets. This mass expansion of course brought a parallel demand for housing, hospitals and schools amongst other things. The company became extremely busy, really fast.
Production
The first cranes that were produced were simple, saddle-jib cranes. They were mainly suited to the building methods during that particular time. The first crane model eventually grew into a range of cranes with a capacity ranging from 12 to 42 metric-tons.
By the early 1970s, Linden Comansa saddle-jib cranes had already met the 200 metric-ton barrier. Linden Comansa has surpassed the standard and has continued to design and engineer cranes which surpass the 900 metric ton capacity. There is presently design and manufacturing facilities which permit the production and development of even larger and more incredible machinery.
The unique Linden 8000 Modular System crane provides several particular advantages which has made it a popular machine for Linden Comansa customers all around the globe. These customers all over the globe have purchased around 12,000 Linden Comansa cranes in addition to the approximately 6000 equipments made by Linden-Alimak within Sweden. These other cranes were manufactured prior to the acquisition of the world-wide selling and manufacturing rights of this particular modular system.
